Local people may have been duped out of money by a con-woman who sent a young girl to ask for donations towards All Hallows Hospital.
Four local people from Bungay and Ditchingham contacted the hospital on Monday 23rd June, and two from Earsham and Harleston contacted the hospital on Tuesday 24th June, to say they had been approached by a young girl of about 9 years old accompanied by a woman pushing a pushchair with a child of about 2 years old. It seems that the older child knocked on doors asking for a donation for the elderly people at All Hallows whilst the woman waited on the pavement. The incidents happened during the afternoon and evening of Sunday 22nd June and lunchtime on Monday 23rd June. If anyone else has any further information please contact PC Jim Squires at Norfolk Police by dialling 101.
The fundraising staff at All Hallows Healthcare Trust would never go door to door asking for donations. Fundraising events are organised throughout the year to raise valuable funds for the Trust and donation boxes are located in many local shops and Public Houses. Individuals organising their own fundraising event including any sponsored events should inform the Trust, if you are in any doubt please contact All Hallows Hospital on 01986 892728.
Please note that all genuine callers will have identification and won’t mind you asking to see it.
